Hands-on History: The Experience of Braiding a Lost Inca Rope

Kyle has enlisted the help of the State College and Philadelphia communities to collectively remake a lost Inca fiber work that is the focus of his dissertation. The in-progress braid is currently being exhibited at the Woskob Family Gallery in State College, PA between January-August, 2025. The exhibition foregrounds his development of an art historical research methodology that rests upon Indigenous language training, state-of-the-art scientific analysis, and international community building through tactile collaboration.
